ABOUT ME

 

Melody Garisek was born in Tokyo, Japan but raised in sunny Southern California. Daughter of a caricature artist, Melody’s first job as a teen was assisting him at bar/bat mitzvahs and celebrity parties in Los Angeles, igniting her enthusiasm for the creative life. 

 

Melody pursued her interests in community college, resulting in six Associate of Arts degrees including Humanities, Social & Behavioral Sciences, Art, Art History and Education. She earned her Bachelors degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in Education from California State University of Long Beach in the spring of 2024.

 

Apart from school, Melody has spent her time traveling, exploring different facets of art, nannying, and serving her faith community, all of which is reflected in her work. 

 

In recent years, Melody has done a deeper dive into her ADHD diagnosis, embracing her ability to passionately and whole-heartedly engage with the variety of projects that come her way. From ceramics to paintings, her work is inspired by her love of life, the magic of childhood, and the warmth of friendship.
